Trump Ally Promises CNN Overhaul If Paramount Succeeds in Warner Bros. Takeover

Billionaire tech magnate Larry Ellison and his son, David Ellison, are at the center of a political and corporate drama that could redefine American media—and the fate of CNN.According to multiple sources familiar with the matter, the Ellisons have privately assured President Donald Trump that if their company, Paramount Global, succeeds in its $108 billion hostile takeover of Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD), they will impose sweeping reforms at CNN, the network Trump has long branded “fake news.”

The competing bid comes just days after Netflix reached a $72 billion agreement to acquire Warner’s film and HBO assets. Crucially, the Netflix proposal does not include CNN, which would be spun off into a separate company under its deal structure.

By contrast, Paramount’s offer explicitly includes CNN—and the Ellisons have made clear they intend to remake it from the ground up.

The Wall Street Journal reported that during private meetings in Washington, David Ellison told senior Trump officials that under Paramount ownership, CNN would undergo a “fundamental cultural and editorial overhaul.” His father, Oracle founder Larry Ellison, discussed firing prominent CNN anchors such as Erin Burnett and Brianna Keilar, two figures Trump has publicly criticized.

“The president wants new ownership of CNN and changes to CNN programming,” one White House official said. “He thinks the current leadership is openly hostile and believes a sale is long overdue.”

Both Ellisons have worked to cultivate Trump’s confidence as the Justice Department’s Antitrust Division—which reports to the president—will ultimately decide whether either deal is approved. The father-son duo were seen with Trump in the presidential box at the Kennedy Center Honors on Sunday, just 48 hours before Paramount’s counteroffer was announced.

According to The Guardian, Larry Ellison personally phoned the president after the Netflix-Warner announcement to argue that a Netflix acquisition “would hand Silicon Valley near-total control over streaming media” and stifle competition.

David Ellison has publicly described his vision for CNN and CBS News under a single, merged news division. In a CNBC interview, he said Paramount’s goal is to “build a scaled news service that is in the trust business, in the truth business, that speaks to the 70 percent of Americans in the middle.”

The Ellison plan would place the combined CNN–CBS News operation under the direction of Bari Weiss, the former New York Times columnist who recently took over as CBS News editor-in-chief and has rebranded the network as “anti-woke.” Her first major move was hiring Matt Gutman, formerly of ABC News, as CBS’s chief correspondent across CBS Mornings, CBS Evening News, and 48 Hours.

Recently, Gutman drew sharp criticism for remarks made while covering the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk. During a live broadcast, he described text messages released between the alleged killer and his romantic partner as “very touching” and “intimate,” casting them in a sympathetic light despite the gravity of the crime.

Within 24 hours, Gutman issued an apology on social media, stating he “deeply regretted” that his words could be construed as insensitive, and asserting that he unequivocally condemns the assassination and the pain caused to Kirk’s family and supporters.

The Ellisons’ proposed acquisition would realign CNN with this alleged “post-woke” CBS ethos—one aimed squarely at restoring what David Ellison calls “viewer trust.”

Despite the outburst, aides say Trump remains open to the Paramount bid—particularly given that it includes CNN, unlike the Netflix plan. The president has privately told advisers he wants “real reform” at CNN and believes a Paramount acquisition could finally bring accountability to what he views as a hostile outlet.

At a White House roundtable Monday, Trump said, “I know the companies very well. I know what they’re doing. But I have to see what percentage of market they have. None of them are particularly great friends of mine. I want to do what’s right.”

The proposed megadeals have already triggered rare bipartisan alarm. Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) called both mergers “anti-monopoly nightmares,” while Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) warned that such consolidation “would shrink consumer choice and silence independent voices.”

A Wall Street Journal political newsletter summed up the moment succinctly: “Both Netflix and Paramount are acting like the fate of any multibillion-dollar deal runs through the Oval Office—because it does.”

Appeals Court Sides With Hegseth On ‘Trans’ Military Ban, Scolds Biden Judge

A federal appeals court on Tuesday sided with Secretary of War Pete Hegseth and the Trump administration over its reimposed policy barring transgender Americans from serving in the U.S. military. At the same time, the appeals panel chided the lower federal district court judge appointed by Joe Biden over her ruling against the Pentagon.

“In our view, the court afforded insufficient deference to the Secretary’s considered judgment. Accordingly, we stay the preliminary injunction pending the government’s appeal,” the three-judge DC Circuit Court of Appeals said, scolding Judge Ana Reyes in a 2-1 decision.

“The United States military enforces strict medical standards to ensure that only physically and mentally fit individuals join its ranks. For decades, these requirements barred service by individuals with gender dysphoria, a medical condition associated with clinically significant distress,” wrote Judge Gregory G. Katsas, a Trump appointee, in the majority opinion which was enjoined by Judge Neomi Jehangir Rao, another Trump appointee.

“The 2025 policy generally bars individuals with gender dysphoria from serving in the Armed Forces. The Secretary of Defense concluded that this policy would advance important military interests of combat readiness, unit cohesion, and cost control. In doing so, he consulted materials compiled to assess the 2016 and 2018 policy changes, as well as more recent studies regarding the impacts of gender dysphoria on those with the condition and on their military service. The district court nonetheless preliminarily enjoined the 2025 policy based on its own contrary assessment of the evidence,” said the ruling.

In January, President Donald Trump signed two executive orders — the “Restoring America’s Fighting Force” order and the “Prioritizing Military Excellence and Readiness” order — directing the U.S. military to eliminate the use of race- or sex-based preferences in its operations and personnel policies.

The orders also instruct the Department of War to review internal practices related to gender identity and pronoun usage as part of a broader assessment of military standards and readiness.

In March, the Trump administration revised its policy regarding service members with gender dysphoria and asked Judge Reyes to lift her earlier preliminary injunction blocking implementation.

During the hearing, Reyes sharply questioned Justice Department attorneys, at one point asking whether they were aware of how military spending on Viagra compared to the costs associated with gender dysphoria treatment.

Hegseth took to the X platform in March to shred Reyes’ decision.

“Since ‘Judge’ Reyes is now a top military planner, she/they can report to Fort Benning at 0600 to instruct our Army Rangers on how to execute High Value Target Raids…after that, Commander Reyes can dispatch to Fort Bragg to train our Green Berets on counterinsurgency warfare,” he wrote.

Trump Rips Indiana Republicans For Rejecting New Congressional Map

After Republican lawmakers in Indiana sided with Democrats to defeat a proposed congressional redistricting plan on Thursday, President Donald Trump signaled he would support a primary challenge against a leading GOP state senator.

The state Senate’s vote of 31-19 defeated the congressional redistricting plan that Trump has been urging Republicans to back in an effort to preserve their majority in the U.S. House for the 2026 midterm elections.

A total of 21 Republicans teamed up with 10 Democrats to vote against the proposed district lines that might have allowed Republicans to gain two additional seats.

In his criticism, Trump singled out Indiana Senate President Pro Tempore Rodric Bray.

“I heard he was against it,” Trump said. “He’ll probably lose his next primary, whenever that is. I hope he does, because he’s done a tremendous disservice.”

Trump added later that he would “certainly support anybody who wants to go against him.”

Nearly Two Dozen Dems Join With House GOP To Kill Trump Impeachment

A bid by a single left-wing lawmaker to impeach President Donald Trump again failed on Thursday, as nearly two dozen Democrats joined Republicans in voting to block the effort.

Rep. Al Green (D-Texas) triggered action on two articles of impeachment late Wednesday by introducing a privileged resolution, a procedural tool that requires the House to take up a measure within two legislative days.

On Thursday, Republicans moved to table the resolution — a step that effectively halts consideration of the impeachment articles. The motion succeeded with bipartisan support, ending the effort, Fox News reported.

Twenty-three Democrats joined Republicans in voting to set aside the impeachment measure. A substantial bloc of Democrats also voted “present,” including all three members of the party’s leadership team: House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.), Minority Whip Katherine Clark (D-Mass.), and Democratic Caucus Chairman Pete Aguilar (D-Calif.).

“Impeachment is a sacred constitutional vehicle designed to hold a corrupt executive accountable for abuse of power, breaking the law and violating the public trust. The effort traditionally requires a comprehensive investigative process, the collection and review of thousands of documents, an exacting scrutiny of the facts, the examination of dozens of key witnesses, Congressional hearings, sustained public organizing and the marshaling of the forces of democracy to build a broad national consensus,” the trio said in a statement explaining their vote.

The final vote fell 237 to 140, with 47 “present” votes, Fox noted.

Among the Democrats who voted to table the measure are Reps. Tom Suozzi, D-N.Y., Josh Riley, D-N.Y., Jared Golden, D-Maine, Jimmy Panetta, D-Calif., Chrissy Houlahan, D-Pa., Maggie Goodlander, D-N.H., Sharice Davids, D-Kan., Don Davis, D-N.C., Shomari Figures, D-Ala., and others, said the outlet.

Green has introduced articles of impeachment against President Trump multiple times over the past year and was removed from the chamber during Trump’s joint address to Congress in March after repeatedly interrupting the speech. The latest effort contains two articles alleging abuse of power, according to legislative text reviewed by

Dan Bongino Could Be Out As Epstein Fallout Grows

FBI Assistant Director Dan Bongino could soon leave his position following internal clashes with the Trump administration over the handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files, according to reporting by journalist Rachel Bade.

Bade wrote on her Substack, “The Inner Circle,” that Bongino has run afoul of senior officials over his response to the Epstein materials, though it remains unclear whether he would be fired or leave voluntarily.

According to Bade, Bongino’s conduct left “senior staff complaining that he put his personal reputation with MAGA World ahead of the team’s best interests.”

Bongino reportedly had a “fiery confrontation” with Attorney General Pam Bondi over the release of a Department of Justice and FBI memo stating there was no Epstein client list and no evidence that Epstein was blackmailing prominent individuals.

ABC News reported at the time that the memo contradicted long running speculation surrounding Epstein’s activities and death.

Axios reported this summer that Bongino was so upset by the dispute with Bondi that he failed to report to work, prompting speculation among colleagues that he may have quit.

Bongino, a former Secret Service agent, rose to prominence as a conservative media figure and podcaster, where he frequently promoted the conspiracy theory that Epstein was murdered in federal custody.

That claim was directly addressed and dismissed in the DOJ and FBI memo, which concluded that Epstein died by suicide while awaiting trial in a Manhattan jail in 2019 on federal sex trafficking charges.

Since then, it’s been sour grapes where he’s concerned in the West Wing,” Bade wrote. “The expectation is that he’ll leave eventually; one person told me he’s told others he won’t be in the job much longer.”

Congress overwhelmingly passed the Epstein Files Transparency Act in November 2025, which was signed into law by President Donald Trump.

Following the law’s enactment, U.S. District Judge Richard M. Berman ruled Wednesday to unseal secret grand jury transcripts related to Epstein.

Two other federal judges earlier this month ordered the release of additional sealed materials tied to Epstein and his associate Ghislaine Maxwell.

Maxwell was sentenced to 20 years in prison after being convicted on five federal sex trafficking charges.

Maxwell has claimed that Trump was “not involved” in the sex trafficking activities.

Trump has repeatedly said he did nothing wrong.

In September, Bongino dropped an alarming update on his official “X” account that appeared to suggest there is a massive and highly secretive level of corruption throughout the federal government.

In a lengthy post, Bongino said that what he’s seen “has shocked me down to my core,” adding that the way the country is currently being run isn’t sustainable.

“During my tenure here as the Deputy Director of the FBI, I have repeatedly relayed to you that things are happening that might not be immediately visible, but they are happening. The Director and I are committed to stamping out public corruption and the political weaponization of both law enforcement and intelligence operations,” the post begins. “It is a priority for us. But what I have learned in the course of our properly predicated and necessary investigations into these aforementioned matters, has shocked me down to my core. We cannot run a Republic like this. I’ll never be the same after learning what I’ve learned,” Bongino wrote.

He added: “We are going to conduct these righteous and proper investigations by the book and in accordance with the law. We are going to get the answers WE ALL DESERVE. As with any investigation, I cannot predict where it will land, but I can promise you an honest and dignified effort at truth. Not ‘my truth,’ or ‘your truth,’ but THE TRUTH,” he said.

AOC Spent $50k On Ritzy Hotels, Other Amenities During Puerto Rico Jaunt

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) spent nearly $50,000 on hotels, meals, and event costs in Puerto Rico during the third quarter of this year, according to newly filed federal campaign finance records. The congresswoman rented a venue in San Juan, where she attended a Bad Bunny concert in August, as part of the expenditures.

Filings from her principal campaign committee show payments of $680.52 on July 28 for lodging at the Hotel Palacio Provincial, followed by additional hotel charges of $1,507.26 on Aug. 29 and $9,440.79 on Sept. 29. The filings also list various meal and hospitality expenses, bringing the total to roughly $50,000 for the three months.

The spending occurred as Ocasio-Cortez used her social media platforms to criticize what she described as rising gentrification pressures on the island.

The “first-class,” “adults only” Palacio Provincial boasts of being “situated within an historic early 19th century building” with “transcendent hints of the structure’s grand colonial past,” according to the New York Post.

On Aug. 25, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for Congress, the lawmaker’s campaign organization, reported an additional $3,861.20 payment to Hotel El Convento, a 19th-century property in San Juan known for its “old world charm and elegance,” according to Federal Election Commission filings.

In total, Ocasio-Cortez’s campaign spent $15,489.77 on lodging in Puerto Rico between July 1 and Sept. 30, according to Federal Election Commission records.

Trump Admin Investigating Omar For Allegedly Marrying Brother to Illegally Enter US

Trump administration border adviser Tom Homan said this week that the Department of Homeland Security is reviewing allegations that Minnesota Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar may have committed immigration fraud by entering into a marriage with a relative.

President Donald Trump and several of his allies have long asserted that Omar’s first husband, Ahmed Elmi, is her brother and that the marriage, which began in 2009 and ended in divorce in 2017, was arranged to facilitate immigration benefits.

No DNA evidence or official documentation has substantiated those claims, and Omar has consistently denied them.

In an interview with Newsmax, Homan said he is examining whether Omar violated immigration laws and whether her legal status could be affected. Omar’s congressional biography states that she arrived in the United States with her family in the 1990s after fleeing civil war in Somalia.

“We’re pulling the records, we’re pulling the files,” Homan said Monday. “We’re looking at it … I’m running that down this week.”

Homan stated that the DHS is conducting a thorough review of visa fraud within the Somali community in Minnesota, following the department’s claim that 50% of visas issued in Minnesota may be fraudulent.

“President Trump has instructed us to go down, and we’re going to deep dive all of this, and we’re going to hold people accountable,” he noted.

Trump accused the Somali-born congresswoman of marrying her brother to commit immigration fraud during a new interview with Politico released Tuesday.

“I don’t want to see a woman that, you know, marries her brother to get in and then becomes a congressman, does nothing but complain,” Trump said in the interview with Politico’s Dasha Burns, referring to Omar’s alleged 2009 marriage to Ahmed Elmi, who multiple reports and witnesses have claimed is her biological brother.

Trump made the remarks after Omar condemned recent Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations in Minneapolis targeting illegal Somali nationals—a crackdown that followed revelations of a $1 billion welfare fraud scheme in Minnesota, portions of which federal investigators say were funneled to the Somali terror group al-Shabaab.

“All she does is complain, complain, complain, and yet her country is a mess,” Trump continued. “Let her go back, fix up her own country. So no, Somalia—and I was right about it.”

The president also accused Minnesota’s Democratic Gov. Tim Walz of failing to address the crisis: “They have an incompetent governor there, too.”

ĪHave you ever come across dark patches of skin at the back of your or your relative’s neck?

That’s probably not just regular dirt that you can get washed off with soap or persistent scrubbing, that might be what they call ‘Acanthosis Nigricans’, which is an early symptom of diabetes.
Recently, a Twitter user who’s also a medical doctor with the username @fiezanizmohamed has shared the info with the public about those dark patches.
“Try looking out for the dark patches like these on the back of the necks of your children, siblings, or friends. This isn’t a mere accumulation of dead skin cells, this is acanthosis nigricans, one of the early signs of getting diabetes!” tweeted Dr. Hafizah.
She further explained that this can’t simply be scrubbed off and to check the blood sugar levels in your body.
What is Acanthosis Nigricans?
Acanthosis nigricans is a skin condition characterized by areas of dark, thick, velvety discoloration in body folds and creases such as your neck, armpits, and groin area.
These skin changes usually happen to people who are obese or have diabetes.
Children who have this skin condition, especially if they’re obese, are more prone to develop type 2 diabetes (diabetes caused by dietary causes, not hereditary).
Also a member of #medtweetMY, a group of medical doctors sharing useful health and medical advice on Twitter, Dr.HafizahMH further clarified the details of Acanthosis Nigricans to netizens commenting on her thread.
The dark patches associated with this condition are usually ‘velvety’ and have hairy features. They will not disappear even with rigorous scrubbing. Hence, marks could also be present.
Apart from the back of the neck, it can also show symptoms on the armpits.
