Trump backs Senate GOP bill to give Americans $1,500 checks for health care — here’s who qualifies

President Donald Trump is showing support publicly for a Republican led Senate bill that would roll out direct payments of nearly $1500

to certain people in the USA to assist in the rising costs of healthcare.

This particular proposal aims to deposit funds into a health savings account for qualified recipients rather than extending traditional affordable care act premium subsidies.

Under this plan, adults ages 18 to 49 would get nearly $1000 every year, and those between the ages of 50 to 64 would get $1500, provided that they’re enrolled in the bronze or catastrophic ACA plans and meet the income criteria of nearly 700% of the federal poverty level.

People with employer coverage or any kind of richer ACA plans would not qualify.

Senators Bill Cassidy and Mike Crapo further shared how they are sponsoring this bill, and that’s currently being advanced to a procedural vote amid bigger debate on how to address health insurance affordability.
